Violet is one of those groups with a vision. Their music is a diverse form of Adult Alternative/AAA that is simply amazing. The music is very powerful and provides a solid background for Meredith Minogue's earthy vocals. Her tone has a quality of sadness that you might expect from a country or folk singer, and her delivery is pure and true, something you would expect from Patti Smith and Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders. The music style jumps all over the map, but seems to hold a certain signature that lets you know that it's a Violet song. The lyrics are also very mature and well written. Each song has a beauty all it's own. I truly enjoyed listening to this album. The artistic nature of the music was more than enough to keep me satisfied, but the diversity and exploration of music by this group was the icing on the cake. This band is definitely worth checking out.
